658 new COVID-19 infections in Poland, active cases soar

The Health Ministry announced 658 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in Poland to 46,346 including 10,251 still active. The number of active cases increased from 9,985 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that 5 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,721.

According to the ministry, a total of 98,282 people are quarantined and 8,241 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 34,374 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far, which means that there are still 10,251 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Saturday morning, as many as 17,786,110 coronavirus cases, 683,491 deaths and 11,181,140 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 4,706,180. Brazil comes second most with 2,666,298 cases and India third with 1,701,307.
