548 new COVID-19 infections in Poland, active cases soar

The Health Ministry announced 548 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in Poland to 46,894 including 10,454 still active. The number of active cases increased from 10,251 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that ten more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,731.

According to the ministry, a total of 96,425 people are quarantined and 8,523 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 34,709 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are 10,454 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Sunday morning, as many as 18,042,805 coronavirus cases, 689,164 deaths and 11,340,954 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 4,764,588. Brazil comes second most with 2,708,876 cases and India third with 1,756,220.
