Health Ministry reports record-breaking 726 new COVID-19 infections in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 726 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in Poland to 49,515 including 12,099 still active. The number of active cases increased from 11,712 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that 18 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,774.

According to the ministry, a total of 102,815 people are quarantined and 9,052 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 35,642 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far, which means that there are still 12,099 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Thursday morning, as many as 18,996,129 coronavirus cases, 711,564 deaths and 12,184,828 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 4,973,741. Brazil comes second most with 2,862,761 cases and India third with 1,967,700.
