811 new COVID-19 infections in Poland, active cases rising

The Health Ministry announced 811 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 54,487 including 14,682 still active. The number of active cases increased from 14,235 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that 14 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,844.

According to the ministry, a total of 108,677 people are quarantined and 9,413 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 37,961 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are 14,682 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Thursday morning, as many as 20,826,517 coronavirus cases, 747,568 deaths and 13,722,940 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 5,360,302. Brazil comes second most with 3,170,474 cases and India third with 2,399,992 .
