The remains of a large settlement dating back 7,000 years were discovered near Ostoja, a city in Zachodniopomorskie district, near the city of Szczecin. The traces of houses that were found were 30 meters long.
For several years now, more and more large Neolithic-era settlements have been found near Szczecin. This proves that there was an ancient civilization located on the territory of contemporary Poland. Although the remains are not as impressive as those found in Egypt or Greece, the organisation of life in the found settlements indicates that they were mostly involved in trade and fishing.
