832 new COVID-19 infections in Poland, active cases rising

The Health Ministry announced 832 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 55,319 including 15,099 still active. The number of active cases increased from 14,682 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that 15 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,858.

According to the ministry, a total of 108,309 people are quarantined and 9,660 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 38,362 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are 15,099 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Friday morning, as many as 21,088,820 coronavirus cases, 757,630 deaths and 13,941,797 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 5,415,977. Brazil comes second most with 3,229,621 cases and India third with 2,464,316.
