Masterworks of Polish romanticism to be exhibited

The National Museum in Warsaw will host a new exhibition named “Poland, the Power of Images”. The exhibition will focus on 19th century paintings representing the school of Polish national romanticism.

Many of the works have been painted by some of Poland’s most famous artists such as Jacek Malczewski, Jan Matejko, Stanisław Wyspiański, Aleksander Gierymski and Wojciech Kossak.

The themes uniting them are myths and landscapes that are so often present in the school of national romanticism.

The exhibition was created in cooperation between a number of renowned art institutions from across the country.

The exhibition opens on September 18th and will close on December 20th.
