Polish striker Robert Lewandowski of FC Bayern Munich and the captain of the national team was placed in ninth position in the ranking of the best-paid football players, prepared by the recognised “Forbes” business magazine.

The Polish player earned over the last season USD 28 mln, which includes USD 24 mln of his salary and 4 mln from other sources such as sponsorship and advertising. He is the only representative of the German Bundesliga in this ranking.
The leader of the table is Argentinean forward Lionel Messi, who recently was close to leave FC Barcelona. Last year, he earned USD 126 mln (92 mln from salary and 34 mln from other sources). According to “Forbes'' he joined the elite club of athletes, who earned more than USD one billion over their career.
The second place is occupied by Portugal’s forward Crisitano Ronaldo playing for Juventus FC (USD 117 mln) and the third – by Brazilian striker Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain FC (USD 96 mln)
They are followed by French Kylian Mbappe (PSG FC, USD 42 mln), Egyptian Mohammed Salah (Liverpool FC, USD 37 mln), other French players Paul Pogba (Manchester United, USD 34 mln) and Antoine Griezmann (FC Barcelona, USD 33 mln) and Welsh Gareth Bale (Real Madrid, USD 29).
The TOP10 is concluded by Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea (Manchester United, USD 27 mln).
