The Health Ministry announced 1,584 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, the second highest number ever reported, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 85,980 including 16,230 still active. The number of active cases increased from 15,264 yesterday.
The ministry also announced that 32 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 2,424.
According to the ministry, a total of 143,442 people are quarantined and 13,894 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 67,326 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 16,230 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.
As of Sunday morning, as many as 32,793,219 coronavirus cases, 993,972 deaths and 24,191,451 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.
The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 7,244,184. India comes second most with 5,908,748 cases and Brazil third with 4,692,579.
