‘Auschwitz inhumane German barbarity’: German Ambassador to Poland

“The inhumane barbarity committed here by Germans is unbearable,” Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven, German’s new ambassador to Poland wrote on Twitter after paying a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi-German concentration camp on Friday.

“I visited Auschwitz-Birkenau today. This was a difficult, but indispensable step for each German. The inhumane barbarity committed here by Germans is unbearable. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is carrying out incredibly important work, caring for the memory of the Victims. Thank you for that!” the ambassador wrote.

Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven is a seasoned diplomat who served as Germany’s ambassador to the Czech Republic in 2014-2016. In 2007-2010, he was a deputy head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service. In 2016, he became the first head of NATO intelligence, namely the Joint Intelligence and Security Division.

President Andrzej Duda received the letters of credence from the new German ambassador to Poland in mid-September.
