1,350 new COVID-19 infections in Poland, active cases rising

The Health Ministry announced 1,350 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 87,330 including 16,994 still active. The number of active cases increased from 16,230 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that eight more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 2,432.

According to the ministry, a total of 139,460 people are quarantined and 16,368 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 67,904 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 16,994 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Sunday morning, as many as 33,084,572 coronavirus cases, 999,088 deaths and 24,442,491 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 7,287,593. India comes second most with 5,992,532 cases and Brazil third with 4,718,115.
