The Health Ministry announced 8,099 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 149,903 including 61,007 still active. The number of active cases was 54,740 yesterday.
The ministry also announced 91 new fatalities, of which seven were due to COVID-19 alone and 84 out of COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 3,308.
According to the ministry, a total of 296,020 people are quarantined and 36,066 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 85,588 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 61,007 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.
As of Thursday morning, as many as 38,777,103 coronavirus cases, 1,097,359 deaths and 29,142,816 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.
The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 8,150,383. India comes second most with 7,307,097 cases and Brazil third with 5,141,498.
