The Health Ministry announced 7,705 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 157,608 including 66,395 still active. The number of active cases was 61,007 yesterday.
The ministry also announced record-breaking 132 new fatalities, of which 12 were due to COVID-19 alone and 120 out of COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 3,440.
According to the ministry, a total of 311,625 people are quarantined and 87,773 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 41,498 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 66,395 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.
As of Friday morning, as many as 39,207,584 coronavirus cases, 1,103,380 deaths and 29,397,835 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.
The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 8,216,315. India comes second most with 7,370,468 cases and Brazil third with 5,170,996.
