The Health Ministry announced 9,622 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 167,230 including 73,544 still active. The number of active cases increased from 66,395 yesterday.
The ministry also announced that 84 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus, 78 of them had preexisting conditions. The death toll in Poland went up to 3,524. 7,612 people are currently hospitalised and 604 are on a ventilator.
The ministry also announced that as many as 48,900 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry, a total of 327,507 people are quarantined and 45,605 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 90,162 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 73,544 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.
As of Saturday morning, as many as 39,633,376 coronavirus cases, 1,109,834 deaths and 29,678,446 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.
The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 8,288,278. India comes second most with 7,432,680 cases and Brazil third with 5,201,570.
