COVID-19: 13,628 new infections in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 13,628 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 241,946 including 128,251 still active.

The ministry also announced 179 new fatalities, of which 29 were due to COVID-19 alone and 150 out of COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 4,351.

According to the ministry, a total of 478,761 people are quarantined and 57,802 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 109,344 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 128,251 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Friday morning, as many as 42,548,289 coronavirus cases, 1,150,144 deaths and 31,454,781 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 8,747,864. India comes second most with 7,814,682 cases and Brazil third with 5,355,650.
