Jędrzej Siwek, a composer and musician from Siemianowice Śląskie, southern Poland, uses crystal glassware to compose his contemporary pieces.
His source of inspiration was a collection of glass left after his late grandmother passed away. Instead of throwing it out, he decided to use it in a creative way.
By trial and error, the talented musician explored the vast world of glass properties. With the use of additional acoustic and electronic instruments, he fine-tuned the once aggressive sound of a hit glass.
In his first album, La Mer, Mr Siwek interpreted Claude Debussy’s classical music in a contemporary spirit. His second release, called “Music for Glass”, is slated to premiere on November 6.
