Eurostat noted a significant increase in industrial production in Poland in comparison to other EU countries. Statistics indicate that Poland is now the biggest construction site in Europe regarding road construction.
Eurostat data also show that much greater drops were recorded in the number of hours worked than in the employment rate.
In quarterly terms, this decrease amounted to 12.8% in the euro area and 10.7 percent in the EU. Compared to Q2 2019, the number of hours worked was 16.6% lower in the euro area and down by 13.8% in the EU.
In Poland, these drops amounted to 2.3% compared to the first quarter of this year and 2.5% compared to the second quarter of 2019. Analysts emphasized that only Croatia had better results than Poland (1.9% and 1.1% respectively). In annual terms, the largest reductions were recorded in Greece (by 29.8%), Spain (by 24.6%) and Portugal (by 22.6%).
