COVID-19: 24,213 new infections in Poland, active cases dropping

The Health Ministry announced 24,213 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 843,475 including 423,112 still active. The number of active cases was 424,748 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 574 new fatalities, of which 115 were due to COVID-19 alone and 459 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 13,288.

According to the ministry, a total of 391,837 people are quarantined and 22,982 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 407,075 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 423,112 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,125 out of 2,956 available .

As of Saturday morning, as many as 58,004,872 coronavirus cases, 1,379,512 deaths and 40,192,380 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 12,277,024. India comes second most with 9,050,613 cases and Brazil third with 6,020,164.
