Ski Jumping: Poles third in competition inaugurating World Cup 2020/2021

At the conclusion of Saturday’s competition in Wisła, Poland, Polish ski jumpers stood third on the podium, just behind the German and Austrian teams

Following the first round, the Germans overtook the Austrians by a narrow 0.7 points, the Poles were 7.6 points away at that stage.

After two series of jumps the Austrians garnered 16.5 points more than the Poles, whereas the Germans overtook the Poles by 7.8 points.

Poland was represented by Piotr Żyła, Klemens Murańka, Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch.

Next came the Norwegians, Japanese, Slovenians, Russians and Swiss.

This was the 28th time that Poles stood on the podium of the team competition of the World Cup. Poles boast seven victories, 10 second places and 11 third places so far in this competition.

On Sunday, an individual ski jumping competition will take place in Wisła, the first in the World Cup 2020/2021 season.
