COVID-19: 15,002 new infections in Poland, slight drop in active cases

The Health Ministry announced 15,002 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 876,333 including 423,691 still active. The number of active cases was 423,742 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 156 new fatalities, of which 38 were due to COVID-19 alone and 118 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 13,774.

According to the ministry, a total of 362,959 people are quarantined and 21,290 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 438,868 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 423,691 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,149 out of 3,116 available .

As of Monday morning, as many as 59,052,724 coronavirus cases, 1,394,689 deaths and 41,253,416 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 12,589,088. India comes has the second most with 9,140,312 cases and Brazil third with 6,071,401.
