COVID-19: 10,139 new infections in Poland, active cases rising

The Health Ministry announced 10,139 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 909,066 including 440,035 still active. The number of active cases was 423,691 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 540 new fatalities, of which 55 were due to COVID-19 alone and 485 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 14,314.

According to the ministry, a total of 334,331 people are quarantined and 19,671 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 454,717 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 440,035 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,095 out of 3,010 available .

As of Tuesday morning, as many as 59,570,462 coronavirus cases, 1,403,111 deaths and 41,237,829 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 12,777,371. India comes second most with 9,177,840 cases and Brazil third with 6,088,004.
