Robert Lewandowski, the captain of the Polish football national team and a striker of FC Bayern Munich has been nominated for the Player of the Year 2020 of the Globe Soccer Awards title.
These awards are organised by the European Football Agents Association (EFAA) and the European Club Association (ECA).
“This is exceptional, all such awards are exceptional,” the Polish player told Associated Press.
Other nominees for the Player of the Year are: French striker Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Lewandowski’s teammate Serge Gnabry (Germany), Italian forward Ciro Immobile (SS Lazio), Sadio Mané of Senegal (Liverpool FC), Brazilian defender Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Argentinian star Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) as well as Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus FC).
Lewandowski recently won the title of the UEFA Player of The Year, but will not compete for the Ballon d’Or trophy of French magazine “France Football,” as the journal cancelled this year’s edition.
