France’s Valentina wins 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

France’s Valentina won the 18th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which took place in Warsaw, Poland, on Sunday. Poland’s representative came ninth.

Valentina won 200 votes, following her performance of the “J’imagine” track.

She managed to win the competition against young artists from 11 countries, namely: Germany, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Serbia, Belarus, Poland, Georgia, Malta, Russia, Spain, and Ukraine.

Poland was represented by Ala Tracz, who performed the song “I’ll be standing”. She came ninth.

This year’s edition of the contest was held under the slogan “Move the World”. It took place in Warsaw, central Poland.

Poland came first in the contest twice in a row, last year and in 2018. Viki Gabor, won the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her “Superhero” track, while Roksana Węgiel won the 2018 edition with “Anyone I want to be”. Roksana Węgiel, Viki Gabor, and Ala Tracz launched their careers in the "The Voice Kids" talent show.

The 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest was organised by Poland’s public broadcaster TVP, which is a member of the European Broadcasting Union, an alliance of public service media.
