COVID-19: 5,733 new infections in Poland, active cases falling

The Health Ministry announced 5,733 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 990,811 including 396,147 still active. The number of active cases was 408,617 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 121 new fatalities, of which 21 were due to COVID-19 alone and 100 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 17,150.

According to the ministry, a total of 292,277 people are quarantined and 11,540 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 577,514 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 396,147 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 2,118 out of 3,074 available .

As of Monday morning, as many as 63,126,957 coronavirus cases, 1,466,060 deaths and 43,587,658 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 13,750,608. India has the second most with 9,432,075 cases and Brazil third with 6,314,740.
