Ski jumping: Stoch 2nd in Oberstdorf, triumph of German Geiger

Kamil Stoch took second place in the competition in Oberstdorf inaugurating the 4-Hills-Ski Tournament. The German Karl Geiger was the winner, and the Norwegian Marius Lindvik was third.

Stoch, fourth at the halfway point, lost by 2.8 points to Geiger. The German, this year's world champion in ski flying, returned to the competition after sickness with Covid-19 and took his first victory of the season.

Markus Eisenbichler and Andrzej Stękała achieved an impressive promotion in the second series. The German landed on 142 metres, the longest distance in the competition, and moved up from 27th to fifth. The Pole, after an attempt at 136.5 moved from 19th position to seventh, which equalled his best result in the season.

The next edition of the Four-Hills-Tournament will take place on January 1 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
