COVID-19: 9,053 new infections in Poland, active cases falling

The Health Ministry announced 9,053 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 1,404,905 including 225,708 still active. The number of active cases was 226,060 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 481 new fatalities, of which 117 were due to COVID-19 alone and 364 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 32,074.

According to the ministry, a total of 180,854 people are quarantined and 5,679 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 1,147,123 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 225,708 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

309,620 people have been vaccinated so far.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,606 out of 2,949 available.

As of Wednesday morning, as many as 92,078,727 coronavirus cases, 1,971,785 deaths and 65,930,650 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 23,369,732. India has the second most with 10,495,816 cases and Brazil third with 8,195,637.
