COVID-19: 9,436 new infections in Poland, active cases rising

The Health Ministry announced 9,436 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 1,414,362 including 226,083 still active. The number of active cases was 225,708 yesterday.

The ministry also announced 381 new fatalities, of which 92 were due to COVID-19 alone and 289 from COVID-19 and concurrent diseases. The death toll in Poland went up to 32,456.

According to the ministry, a total of 184,369 people are quarantined and 5,922 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 1,155,823 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far. As it stands, there are still 226,083 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

369,212 people have been vaccinated so far.

The number of occupied ventilators amounts to 1,630 out of 2,946 available.

As of Thursday morning, as many as 92,848,561 coronavirus cases, 1,988,483 deaths and 66,405,548 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 23,616,345. India has the second most with 10,512,831 cases and Brazil third with 8,257,459.
