The Polish Ministry of Health has reported another 6322 new coronavirus infections detected in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections registered since the start of the pandemic to 1,470,879
The Ministry also announced that another 346 patients, most of whom suffered from comorbidities, have passed away due to the disease.
The largest number of registered cases was reported from Mazowieckie Province (936), which includes the capital city Warsaw, while Świętokrzyskie Province in south-central Poland reported the lowest number of cases (90).
14,582 patients have been hospitalised due to the virus, of which 1,477 are currently on a ventilator.
The ministry reports that more than 1.2 million patients have recovered from the disease, while over 8 million people have been tested for the coronavirus since the pandemic started.
The number of new daily infections has stabilised in recent weeks after peaking at around 25,000 new cases per day during the month of November.
