A new report by real estate consultancy CBRE puts demand for warehouse space in Poland at 5.2 million square metres in 2020, up by 21 percent on 2019.
The level of unleased space fell in 2020 by 0.6 percentage points to 6.6 percent, CBRE reported, adding that 2 million square metres of new space was handed over for use in 2020, 26 percent more than a year earlier. Currently, over 2 million square metres is under construction.
CBRE forecast that in 2021 the amount of new warehouse space delivered to the market will be similar to last year and that demand will be maintained.
Warehouse rents currently stand at about EUR 4-5.2/sqm per month in Warsaw and EUR 2.7-3.9/sqm per month in other regions of Poland, CBRE said.
CBRE analysts expect no change in the near future.
