Poland is one of US best allies: US best-selling author Bill O’Reilly

According to one of the world’s best selling authors, Bill O'Reilly, who was a guest of “Rock Rachon” programme, Poland is considered to be “one of America’s best allies in the world”. However, as the author points out, many Americans have no idea why. This was the main reason for him to include the country in his books, showing how the fates of Poland and the US intertwined over the years.

In an interview with Michał Rachoń, the writer referred to WWII. “I wanted to bring into “Killing Patton [2014]” for the American audience how intense and how much suffering the Polish people endured first under Hitler and then Stalin”, said Mr O’Reilly, adding that “It was something I don’t think Americans have any clue about”.

According to the writer, two individuals mainly responsible for the freedom of Poles were Pope John Paul II and Ronald Reagan - former US president. “Both of those individuals galvanised, in different ways, public opinion to oppose communism”, stressed O'Reilly.

Michał Rachoń's guest also shared his opinion on the recent social media bans of right-wingers, including the former US president, Donald Trump.

“The social media companies are banning political speech and expression they don’t like”, stressed Mr O’Reilly, adding that the people running these operations are mostly progressive liberals. “Once you have censorship of one political point of view, but you allow another, your freedom evaporates”, he noted.

William James O'Reilly Jr. is a conservative American journalist, former TV host and author of fifteen US number-one bestselling nonfiction books. There are currently more than 18 million of his books in the ‘Killing’ series in print.
