Ewa Swoboda won her fifth title of the Polish indoor champion in the 60 m race in Toruń. Her result of 7.10 is the second best this year in Europe. Klaudia Kardasz won the shot put, completing the minimum score of 18.57 for the EAIC and the Tokyo Olympics.
Swoboda (AZS AWF Katowice) covered 60 m in a great time of 7.10 - only 0.03 below the Polish record. This is the second result this year in Europe and a promising sign for European Athletics Indoor Championships (EAIC), which will be held in the same Arena on March 5-7.
“I love Toruń and Toruń loves me. This is my favorite track. I knew from the beginning of the season that I was prepared for great running. After the first start in Łódź I was disappointed, but at the Copernicus Cup, I ran 7.16 which is quite good. I can’t say I don’t think about running 0.06 faster at the EAIC, and that would put me at 7.04.” said Swoboda.
