‘Remembrance and Identity’ festival commences on Monday

The festival is the initiative of the company’s board to build and empower the feeling of the national identity of the Poles, as well as to promote in the television and its VOD service films produced and co-produced by the public broadcaster.

The festival will last from February 22 to March 1. Qualified productions, made between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2020 will be made available in the following categories: film and feature series, film and documentary series, theatre, reconstruction, concert and spectacle, St. John Paul II’s heritage.

The ceremonial gala, broadcast on the internet and on TVP, will be held on the National Day of Remembrance of the Indomitable Soldiers on March 1, 2021.

The productions are awarded with Gold and Platinum Gorget statuettes - referring to memorabilia of fallen national heroes.

Many of the movies and series scheduled to be presented during the festival are also available to watch on Poland IN channel.

These include vast choice of documentaries about the legacy of Saint John Paul II, among others, “I Like to See the Sun Rise” and “Dialogue. Life Written in Letters” or drama series such as “Conspirators”, about young days of Marshall Józef Piłsudski (every day at around 3:13 pm CET, after the news service/block), “Days of Honour” telling the story of brave insurgents fighting against Germans in the Warsaw Uprising, broadcasted daily at 7:13 pm CET), and “Men and Gods”, about Polish Home Army hit squad, whose episode one premieres on Poland IN on Monday after news service, at 9:12 pm CET.
