Vaccinations cut COVID-19 infections among doctors 20 fold: Health Min

The number of new infections among Polish doctors fell to 10 per day from more than 200 in December, thanks to the vaccination process started three months ago, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said on Tuesday.

Mr Niedzielski announced the news as Poland wrestled with the third wave of COVID-19 sweeping across the country.

"From the beginning of December, [we can see] the decline from daily levels of above 200 to 10. No trace of the third wave here!" Mr Niedzielski wrote on Twitter.

By mid-February almost 90 percent of Poland’s 137,300 doctors were vaccinated.
