"The Polish national team has undergone further tests for the presence of coronavirus. Unfortunately, the results of Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kamil Piątkowski are positive. Due to the fact that Krychowiak is a COVID-19 convalescent, we initiated talks with UEFA to clarify the matter and allow him to play,” wrote Mr Kwiatkowski on Twitter, who has also contracted the disease.
Krychowiak would be another key missing player from the Polish team, who are facing England at Wembley in the qualifying round of the World Cup on Wednesday. On Monday, it turned out that the captain and the best scorer of the national team, Robert Lewandowski, will also be sidelined for the clash in London. The striker injured his right knee in Sunday's match against Andorra (3:0), in which he scored two goals. Clinical and imaging studies have shown damage to the collateral ligament.
