Robert Lewandowski captain of the Polish national team is forced to take a break which may last about four weeks due to his knee injury, Bayern Munich announced. The injury occurred during the match against Andorra (3: 0) in the World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.
Lewandowski suffered an injury in the 63rd minute of Sunday's match. The 32-year-old striker, who scored two goals, felt pain in his knee and after a while he left the field. The initial diagnosis suggested a break of five up to ten days.
The footballer did not fly with the national team to London on Tuesday, where on Wednesday the Polish team will face England in the next World Cup qualification match. He returned to Munich and was examined by Bayern medical staff.
Lewandowski will not play in Saturday's Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig and in the Champions League quarter-finals against PSG.
