“Thank you for your wonderful, self-sacrificing attitude, and for your exemplary service; the Polish health service has passed the exam,” said President Andrzej Duda, addressing medical professionals on World Health Day, which in Poland is also celebrated as Healthcare Workers’ Day.
"Please, pass on and accept my very heartfelt thanks for this wonderful, extremely self-sacrificing attitude and an exemplary service towards people, towards patients, in accordance with the oath you made when you entered your profession,” Mr. Duda said in a video posted on Twitter.
"We can say different things about the time of the pandemic, maybe there were stumbles and there were many things that could have been done better. Despite that, I am convinced that the Polish health service, healthcare workers, Polish medical services in general - apart from some exceptions which always happen - have passed the exam and shown that the vast majority of people who constitute Polish medical service are people who chose their profession by vocation,” the president emphasised.
"Thank you very much for that," he added.
