The competition was difficult due to changing weather conditions, with windless periods followed by storms.

Jan Koszowski won first place in the A’s Youth Foil while Julia Damasiewicz took home the title in the Formula Kite Women. Both of the champions are just 15 years old but have been training since a very young age.

Damasiewicz told reporters that she is super happy as “winning the World Championship is really something. Kitesurf is a big part of my life and I am truly excited about this win.”

In the final round Koszowski defeated his opponents from Belgium, Italy and Russia in what would become the only race of the day due to difficult weather conditions.

The young Pole told the press that he was over the moon after having won his first world championship ever.

The two kitesurfing talents cannot rest on their laurels as they will soon have to start preparing for the next big kitesurfing event, the Formula Kite and A’s Youth Foil European Championships that will take place between September 7 to September 12 in Bol, Croatia.
