Last week, Świątek reached the semi-final in the WTA indoor hard court tournament in Ostrava (the Czech Republic). She lost to Greek Maria Sakkari 4:6, 5:7, who in turn lost to Estonian player Anett Kontaveit 2:6, 5:7 in the final.

Magda Linette advanced from 59th to 54th place and Magdalena Fręch from 110th to 108th place in the WTA ranking.

On Sunday, Hubert Hurkacz achieved a double victory in the ATP indoor tournament in Metz (France). In the final of the singles he defeated the Spaniard Pablo Carreno-Busta 7:6 (7-2) 6:3. Just hours later he triumphed in the doubles alongside Jan Zieliński.

It was 24-year-old Hurkacz’s fourth title of his singles career. Earlier this season, he won at Delray Beach and Miami, and in 2019 at Winston-Salem. In 2021, he also reached the semi-final of Wimbledon. Serb Novak Djokovic is still the highest ranked male tennis player, while Australian Ashleigh Barty remains at the top of the WTA ranking.
